Why come?
Who is it for, and how does it help?
Couples therapy is for couples, married or not, whose relationship is deteriorating and who can no longer communicate. It is better not to wait until separation is on the table: the work is more effective when difficulties first appear.
The therapist helps the conversation and the reflection on the difficulties and their causes, taking into account each partner's history, environment, hopes and frustrations. She stays neutral: neither judge nor referee. The aim is not to find someone to blame but to restore communication and change the couple's dynamic, including what is passed down from one generation to the next.
Three keys to a fulfilling relationship
- Learning to communicate: how you say things matters as much as what you say
- Listening to each other with respect and without judgement
- Recognising your own share of responsibility
How sessions work
We agree on the arrangements together. I recommend a session every ten to fifteen days, lasting about 1h30. I first see the couple, then each partner individually, before bringing you back together to decide on the next steps.
