Why therapy?

Anxiety and panic attacks

When worry takes over, keeps you from sleeping, going out or concentrating, there is a way out. Therapy for anxiety is among the most effective there is.

Forms of anxiety

  • Generalised anxiety: worrying about everything, all the time, with constant physical tension.
  • Panic attacks: racing heart, shortness of breath, fear of dying or going mad, often for no clear reason.
  • Phobias: fear of flying, driving, crowds, public speaking, closed spaces…
  • Social anxiety: fear of other people's gaze and judgement.
  • OCD: intrusive thoughts and rituals to quiet them.
  • Anxiety about the security situation: sirens, alerts, worry about loved ones on duty.

How I help

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is the reference treatment for anxiety. Together we identify what triggers and maintains the anxiety, then you learn concrete tools: breathing and calming the body, working on catastrophic thoughts, gradually returning to situations you avoid. When useful, a psychodynamic approach helps understand what the anxiety says about your story.

The first effects are often felt within a few weeks. Sessions take place in Tel Aviv or online, in English, Hebrew or French.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my anxiety needs therapy?

When it has lasted several weeks, makes you avoid situations or gets in the way of your sleep, work or relationships, it is worth talking to a psychologist.

How long does therapy for anxiety take?

CBT for anxiety often lasts a few months, with a session every week or every two weeks. The length depends on your situation and is decided together.

Do I need medication?

Not necessarily. Psychotherapy is often enough. If medication seems useful, I refer you to a doctor or psychiatrist I can work with.
